New provisions regarding part-time employees came into effect on January 1, 2023. The changes entail that part-time employees have priority over external hiring within the enterprise. The priority right is also extended to include extra shifts and similar short-term work. Additionally, employers are required to document in writing the need for part-time employment and to discuss with union repre-sentatives before making decisions about part-time employment.

With record-high electricity prices and low development costs, solar power has become a rapidly growing market over the past year.

The EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA) has approved investment aid for the construction of a new airport in Mo i Rana, a city located in the Helgeland region in Northern Norway.

On June 14, 2022, a public committee that assessed the development of the power grid presented the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy their Official Report “Grid on time” – on the development of the power grid (NOU 2022: 6). The proposed measures could collectively contribute to a significant boost to the grid development in Norway, by reducing the overall lead time for grid facilities, better utilization of the network, and improve the connection process.

Kristin Veierød and Kristian Brandt assisted Bane NOR SF in a legal dispute against the Norwegian Railway Authority. They acted as legal counsel during the case presented before the Bogarting Court of Appeals.
