Tarek El-Khatib

Associate

Tarek assists with both public and private transactions, as well as investments, joint ventures, and commercial contracts. He advices both local and international companies in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), demergers, reorganizations, and general corporate matters, often with cross-border elements.

Tarek is fluent in Arabic, enabling him to assist companies operating in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) with transactions and general compliance regulations involving both governments and private parties.

Prior to joining Hjort, Tarek was an associate at Schjødt and a legal intern at several law firms and public offices, including The Office of the Attorney General and the Norwegian Ministry of Finance, Tax Department. During his studies, he also founded Obiter Dictum, a non-profit organization for law students in Norway.
