Sunniva Jacobsen Øyen

Managing Associate

Sunniva Jacobsen Øyen has extensive expertise with issues at the intersection of privacy and employment law, compliance, public access, and privacy. She has worked on compliance and implementation of the GDPR in several large enterprises, including in the financial sector, research sector, and in connection with marketing, as well as issues related to control measures, CCTV, email inspections, and the processing of personal data in whistleblowing cases and investigations. Through a secondment to the Data Protection Authority, Sunniva has also worked with the same issues from the perspective of the regulatory authority. She assists both Norwegian and international clients.

Sunniva works with legal compliance related to sustainability and has advised numerous enterprises in connection with compliance with the Transparency Act, as well as adaptation to EU directives related to sustainability and the environment, such as CSRD and CSDDD.

Sunniva has previous experience as a committee secretary for the government-appointed Transparency Committee. In this role, she dealt with issues related to freedom of speech and privacy, the right to one’s image, the right to privacy, confidentiality, duty of loyalty in employment relationships, health law, and media law.
